Elmer Ray Parker

Elmer Ray Parker, a devoted husband, loving father, and hardworking supervisor, passed away on September 3, 2023, in Temple, Texas. He was born on November 8, 1932, in Kempner, Texas. Elmer peacefully departed this world at the age of 90 due to natural causes.

Elmer was a man of simple pleasures and deep-rooted values. He cherished the moments spent outdoors, especially his favorite pastimes of  fishing, working with tractors, and caring for his beloved donkeys. These hobbies provided him solace and joy throughout his life, allowing him to explore his deep connection to nature.

Elmer dedicated his professional life to the highway construction industry, where he served as a respected supervisor for Bell County Road and Bridges. His commitment and strong work ethic earned him the admiration and respect of his colleagues and peers.

Elmer was a devoted family man, sharing 64 remarkable years of marriage with his loving wife, Freddie Mae Koenig Parker.  They were married on June 10, 1958 in Thorndale, Texas.

He leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his daughters, Tammi Provasek and Debbie Sanders, who will forever remember his love, guidance, and unwavering support. Mr. Parker is also survived by his sister, Paula James and two grandchildren.

The funeral service to honor Elmer Ray Parker's life will be held on September 6, 2023, at 10:00 am at Dossman Funeral Home. Prior to the service, a public viewing will take place on September 5, 2023, at 6:00 pm, also at Dossman Funeral Home. Addressing friends, family, and community members, it will be an opportunity to reminisce, share stories, and pay tribute to a remarkable man who touched the lives of many.

Following the funeral service, Elmer will be laid to rest at the serene grounds of 13956 W State Hwy 36, Temple, Texas, on September 6, 2023, at 11:00 am. It is in this final resting place that Elmer will find eternal peace.

Elmer Ray Parker's passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Yet, his memory will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched, the stories shared, and the legacy he leaves behind. As we gather to celebrate his life, let us remember the lasting impact of a man who found joy in the simple beauties of life and brought those around him an abundance of love and laughter.
