Eladio Jimenez passed on November 30, 2018. Mr. Jimenez was 91 years of age and died of natural causes.
A graveside service for Eladio will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 9:00 AM at Wilson Valley Cemetery in Little River, Texas with Deacon Oscar Valeriano officiating.
Eladio was originally from Costa Rica and migrated to the U.S. in the 1960s with his adoring wife, Elia. The two of them would have somewhat of an adventure in the U.S. living in a variety of different states as they raised four children and sought to make a home in a country quite different from their mutual birthplace. Mr. Jimenez was a self-taught tradesman and small business owner. He originally operated a trucking firm in Costa Rica that transported cattle throughout the Central American region. He and Mrs. Jimenez cherished their memories of coming to the U.S. for the purpose of buying the trucks that were used for this cattle transportation firm. Later, while in the U.S., he became an accomplished construction worker focused on home remodeling and exterior refinishing work. He was a very proud and independent man, refusing to work for any single company. He preferred his free agency and dedicated himself to a business built on quality work, customer service and word of mouth business referrals. His wife of nearly 51 years passed away in 2000. She, and now Mr. Jimenez, will both lay at rest at a cemetery outside Austin, Texas in a town named, Little River, their home of many years before the passing of his loving wife. They are survived by three sons, Eladio, Carlos, and David and their daughter Maria-Elena. A fifth child, Roberto, passed early in his youth. Mr. Jimenez will be remembered by his children as an immensely strong personality, with many experiences and stories to tell that were the result of many challenges he took on during his modest but always busy life. He was a hunter and billiards player early in life, but is remembered best by his eight surviving grandchildren as a tough, but fun, checker player.
Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of the arrangements.
