Edith Adell Lambert

July 1, 1944 — June 30, 2024

Edith Adell McFerrin Lambert (“Edie”) was born on July 1, 1944, to R.T. McFerrin and Ruth Butterfield McFerrin and passed away on June 30, 2024, at 79 years of age, just minutes shy of her 80th birthday.  Edie married the love of her life, Paul Lambert on June 24, 1962.  Edie and Paul spent their lives living in Texas, Iowa and a few years in Oklahoma before returning to Texas.  Two children were born of their union, Cim and Terry. Edie and Paul celebrated 52 years of marriage before his death in 2014. Their love story set the perfect example for their children and all who knew them.  Edie unconditionally loved her family so big and was wholly devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great grandsons.  She had a smile that would light up the room and her laugh contagious.  In the words of her granddaughter, Ara, “she was feisty, supportive and unapologetically loving.”

Edie was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved Paul, her brothers, Robert McFerrin, Lewis McFerrin and R.T. McFerrin, Jr., and a sister, Betty McFerrin Jett.

Edie is survived by her children, Cim Lambert Owens and her husband Asa, Terry Lambert and his wife, JoAnne Nelson Lambert, grandchildren, Ara Owens Furr and her husband Kodiak Furr, Aric Owens and Gaeric Lambert and two great grandsons, Everett Furr and Wade Paul Owens; sisters, Naomi McFerrin Van Noy and her husband, Bob, Sandra McFerrin Kohring and her husband, Lloyd, Kathryn McFerrin Carter, many nieces, nephews, cousins.

Edie and Paul loved to travel and fell in love with the mountains of Wyoming while visiting family there.  It was their desire that after they passed on to be cremated and have their ashes spread in the mountains in Wyoming.  The family is planning a trip to honor their request next summer.
