Dorothy Fay Richards

Funeral service for Dorothy Fay Richards, 88 of Temple will be 10 AM Saturday July 6 at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.

Visitation will be Saturday July 6 from 9 AM to 10 AM at Dossman Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born December 4, 1930 in Ector, Texas the daughter of Alva C. and Ruby (James) Anderson. She graduated from Bonham High School in Bonham, Texas. She married Clyde Richards on February 4, 1995 in Belton, Texas, he preceded her in death in 2007.  Dorothy worked as a security guard. She then attended the Police Academy and became a Deputy Sheriff working for Sheriff Lester Gunn in Belton, Texas. She later worked as a guard at the Mountain View Women’s Prison in Gatesville, Texas.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde O. Richards; a son, Michael Jennings and grandson John Ross Reynolds.

Survivors include two sons, Garry Moore of Belton, Texas and Karl Moore of Bellmead, Texas; three daughters, Brenda Bernier of Temple, Texas, Feresa Reynolds of Grand Prairie and Lori Younce of Elkton, Maryland; ten grandchildren, Lisa Blackmon, Matthew, Shane and Melissa Moore, Brett and Devin Davis, David Lee,  Ashley and Amanda Jennings and Charity Lawson and five great grandchildren, Walker and Luke Blackmon, Emerson and Harper Lee and Olivia Davis.
