David R. Shriner

Funeral services for David R. Shriner, 79, of Moody, will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Christ Episcopal Church in Temple with Father Keith Pozzuto officiating. Burial will be at 11:15 AM, Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday evening from 5-7 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. Mr. Shriner died Saturday, September 17, 2022, in a Temple hospital. Mr. Shriner was born September 14, 1943, in Genesco, Kansas, the son of Nelson and Mildred (Moore) Shriner. He married Karen Kay Allen, February 19, 1964 in Geneseo, Kansas. Mr. Shriner served 20 years in the United States Army, reaching the rank of Major. Among his many awards were the AirMedal with 13 combat notes and a purple heart. He retired in 1983. He was a 33 degree Master Mason. Enjoy his emu farm and also worked for McLane Company. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2016. Survivors include his daughter Laura Ranae McCreary; son Steven B. Shriner; sister, Joyce Ann Mullen; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
