Daniel Anthony Gauthier, 80, resident of Belton, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at a local nursing home. Daniel was born on January 14, 1940 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to the late Arthur and Evelyn (Maus) Gauthier. He married the former Eleanore Hendricks on April 8, 1967 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in De Pere, Wisconsin, thus marking the beginning of a happy marriage that lasted more than 53 years. In 1959, Daniel graduated from Green Bay West High School in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964, when he was honorably discharged. A devout Roman Catholic, Daniel was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton, Texas. Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling, taking walks, enjoying the outdoors, watching classic movies, reading history books, rooting for his beloved Green Bay Packers, and spending time with his family and pet dachshunds. Daniel’s love of life was exemplified by his wonderful sense of humor, and he loved laughing and telling jokes in equal measure.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanore, and two children, David Gauthier (Judith) of Hammond, Louisiana and Lisa Gauthier of Jarrell, Texas.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Evelyn, and by a daughter, Susan Marie.
Due to the Coronavirus (COVID - 19), a memorial service will be held on a later date.
