Clarinda Ann Boopie Wheeler passed away on March 9, 2025, at her home in Belton, Texas, at the age of 70. Born on June 28, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Visitation for Clarinda Boopie Wheeler will be held on March 13, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton, Texas. A funeral service will take place the following day, March 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at Dossman Funeral Home.
Boopie attended Temple schools, until the 6th grade, when she moved to Belton. She graduated from Belton High School and then went on to graduate from the Kings Daughters Hospital School of Nursing in Temple, TX.
With a career spanning an impressive 54 years, she dedicated her life to nursing, where she found her true calling in the pediatric department. Her caring nature and passion for her work were evident in the warmth she brought to each interaction, making a difference in the lives of countless children and their families.
She was not only dedicated to her career, but she also had a vibrant life outside of her profession. During her years at Belton High School, she was an active member of the Drill Team and entertained the community alongside her sisters with their captivating tumbling routines. An accomplished athlete, she competed in softball and took pride in coaching the first girls softball team in Belton, Texas.
Boopie married Larry Wheeler while they were still in high school, exchanging vows on June 26, 1971. Together, they celebrated 53 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, joy, and mutual respect. She cherished her role as a mother and later, a grandmother and great grandmother.
Those who knew her described her as passionate, caring, loving, and incredibly kind. Her interests included dancing, cooking for large gatherings, traveling, and shopping. She had a special affinity for collecting lighthouses and deeply enjoyed attending functions for her children and grandchildren, always prioritizing family involvement in her life.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Wheeler; children, Jeremy Wheeler and wife Annette of Austin, TX, Tessa Wheeler and J.B. Coxx of Stephenville, TX, Jaxon Wheeler of Belton, TX, and Jared Quincy Wheeler of Belton, TX.; grandchildren, Renay Zapata, Johnny Coxx, Christopher Dixon, Ayden Wheeler, Anden Wheeler, and Annika Wheeler; great grandchild, Paisley Jo Dixon; siblings, Dwight and Nita Culp,Belinda and Bobby Shumate, Rhonda and Bob Bills, and Lorinda and Jason Scarbrough; in-laws, Billy Jack and Penny Wheeler; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Winnie Culp; sister, Glenda Grau; sister, Brenda Edmonson; and sister-in-law, Pam Gulley.
Clarinda Wheeler will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and care will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
