Chuck Milton Lancaster

Chuck Milton Lancaster, 77, of Belton, Texas unexpectedly passed on Friday (11th), after suffering a heart attack at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

Chuck was born on January 29th, 1944, to George Milton and Helen Elizabeth (Jacobs) Lancaster in Overpeck, Ohio. He married Jean LaBorde Williams on March 24, 2018 in Belton, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Lancaster; three sons, Brad Lancaster and wife Debra of Cedar Park, Texas.  Kevin Lancaster and wife Kristin of Leander, Texas and Jason Williams and wife Courtney of Belton, Texas;  a daughter, Dana Nowak and husband Frank of Austin, Texas;  nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his father, George Milton Lancaster, his mother, Helen Elizabeth Lancaster, and his brother, Harry E. Lancaster.

Chuck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He was a spiritual, God loving man, who was strong in his faith.  Chuck was a proud and highly respected Freemason, and a member of the Hill Country Lodge No. 456 A.F & A.M. in Austin, Texas since 1970.  He was a licensed private aviation pilot (recreation).  He had a strong passion for philanthropy and was involved in many charities, volunteering his time and attention to numerous community events.

Chuck’s professional career and tenure was nothing short of remarkable.  He held many significant and substantial positions during his 33 years with IBM (1966 - 1999).  Chuck served as an Engineer, and played a pivotal role in both IBM Product Design and IBM Product Development.  In addition, he managed the team responsible for product integration with IBM partners, vendors, and suppliers.  Chuck’s strong dedication, attention to quality and detail, his skillset and expertise had a profound impact on IBM, as these technologies are still in place and being used today.

Chuck had many passions, hobbies, and volunteering positions and posts.  He severed 10 years volunteering with the Austin Aqua Festival; 6 of those years he served as Vice Commodore.  Chuck was involved with the Town & Country Optimist Softball Association, coached a softball team, and served as the Board Commissioner representing the League.  He spent 2 years involved with community events and fundraisers for the Lago Vista Lions Club. In addition, Chuck volunteered annually for the Star of Texas and Rodeo Austin.  He as an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast (one of the very 1st members of the initial Central Texas HOG Chapter) and loved to ride.  Chuck was musically inclined and loved to play both the guitar and harmonica.  Chuck also had a passion for photography, and was always there to capture special moments and memories.

Above all else, his love and compassion for his family and friends was ever-present.  Chuck was truly a beam of light in this world, loved and cherished by many, and will be deeply missed by all.
