Carolynn Elaine Burt

Carolynn Elaine Burt, 67, of Jonesboro, TX, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022. A memorial service is scheduled for January 14, 2023, at 11:00AM at the Jonesboro Baptist Church with Jimmy Williamson, officiating.

Carolynn was born May 29, 1955, in Wiesbaden, Germany to Johnny Wayne Vandagriff and Clara May (Ferguson) Vandagriff. Born into a military family with three siblings, she attended school in Germany, and finished her education in Texas. In 1985, she married Jack Burt. Together, they owned and operated Burt’s Trash Service for several years.

Carolynn took pride in her work ethic and loved her family deeply. Her heart was big, and she always strived to show compassion for others, especially those in need. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, always filling her heart with love and her spirit with laughter. She enjoyed the outdoors, oftentimes camping and fishing with her family. One of her most cherished possessions was her dog, “Baby,” whom she spoiled in her later years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Burt, October 20, 2021, and sister, Marilyn Leonard.

Survivors include one daughter, Shanna Ramirez, and husband Rick; five sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Staci Johnson, Versile and Amy Johnson, Mikel and Catherine Johnson, John and Becca Johnson and Zeb and Janelle Johnson; two brothers Dale Vandagriff and Kenny Vandagriff, 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
