Bob Kelton of Belton, Texas passed away at his home on January 28, 2025.  He was 74 years of age.

Bob was born on January 26, 1951, in Belton TX to Bartholomew Jr. and Wilma (Smitha) Kelton.   In his youth Bob loved all sports, but especially baseball, and played competitively, even being scouted by professional teams until the birth of his son, at which time he settled down to raise his family in Belton.

As a lifelong resident of Belton, Bob had deep roots in the community.  Over the years he worked in various demanding managerial positions at Eckerd Drugs, Britts Drugs, Inman Pharmacy, City Pharmacy and Golden Chick often working 6-7 days a week.  But as the saying goes “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”  While Bob worked a lot, his roles allowed him to interact with friends and colleagues regularly. Most recently, in his “retirement”, you could find him at the Expo Quik Stop, chatting with friends about his beloved Dallas Cowboys or discussing the latest golf tournament.  Bob was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Belton where he served as a Deacon.  Above all else, he loved his family, following his grandson’s baseball careers, and supporting his grand nieces and nephews and his community which he served in any way he could.

Bob is survived by his son Kevin Kelton (Serenity) of Pantego, Texas, sisters, Shelia Kelton Gaines (Larry) of Belton, Texas, Susan Kelton Clark (Lucky) of Harker Heights, Texas, Kathy Gail Kelton (Chris) of Waco, Texas, uncle Billy Joe Smitha of Belton, Texas, aunt Sandra Smitha Harrison of Temple, Texas, and grandchildren Koby Kelton of New York City, New York and Kamden Kelton of Pantego, Texas and a host of family and friends.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, January 31, 2025, 5-7pm at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton, Texas.  Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Dossman Funeral Home, with burial immediately following at North Belton Cemetery, Belton, Texas.
