Birdie L. Smith, 93, of Temple, died Tuesday, September 16, 2019, at her home.
Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, September 20, 2019 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.
Mrs. Smith was born April 25, 1926 in Ripley, Tennessee, the daughter of Hubert and Ruby (Chism) Miller. She married J. C. Smith in Ripley, Tennessee in 1946. They lived many places with Mr. Smith's career in the Army. They moved from Ft. Dix, New Jersey to Temple after Mr. Smith was transferred in 1972. She worked for 15 years in administration for Scott and White Hospital. She was a long time member of Memorial Baptist Church in Temple
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Joe T. Smith both in 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Hubert Wayne Smith of Tennessee and Tran Smith of Temple; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorials to be made to the City of Temple Animal Shelter 620 Mama Dog Circle Temple, Texas 76504.
Dossman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
