There will be a viewing for Billy Joe Karl Jr. At Dossman funeral home in Belton, Texas on August 8th at 9:00a.m. followed by graveside  services at 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery in Belton as well.

Billy Joe died on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, at 11:00 at the hospital in Bowling Green Kentucky.

Billy Joe Karl Jr. was the son of Billy Joe Karl and Jamye Mayhall Karl. He was born December 17th, 1970.

Billy was raised in Burnet, Texas and graduated from Burnett High School where he was an accomplished welder and a member of the FFA.

He married Stephanie Karl in October of 2000 and had one child, Katie Mae.

Billy started his career as a rodeo clown and later went to school to be a furrier. He loved anything to do with rodeos and the farm life.

In 1989, Billy joined the United States National guard, and in 1990 enlisted in the United States Army full time. He served in the military until 1997. During his career Billy served in Desert Storm with the Forty Third Combat Engineer Company 2/3 Armored Calvery regiment. While at Fort Campbell, Billy served in the 101 Airborne.  Billy served in Korea with the 2nd Infantry Division. While in the military, Billy received numerous commendations: Army Achievement medal, Army lapel button, Army good conduct medal, National Defense medal, Southwest Asia service medal, 2 Bronze Stars for service in Desert Storm and Desert Shield Noncommissioned Officers Professional Deployment Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Saudi Kuwait Liberation Medal, Kuwait Liberation Service Medal Government of Kuwait, Sharpshooters Badge m-16 Riffle, Marksman Badge Hand Grenade, Air Assault Badge, and Driver and Mechanic Badge.

Billy’s military career ended in 1997 at Fort Campbell Kentucky, and he decided to stay in Kentucky.

While in Kentucky, Billy was the ranch manager for Fox Creek Cattle and in 2006, he started the business Mustang Construction and Fence Company. Billy lived the rest of his life in Bowling Green Kentucky and was a student at Western Kentucky University.

Billy was proceeded in death by his father, Billy Joe Karl Sr. and his mother, Jamye Mayhall Karl.

He is survived by his daughter Katie Mae Karl; his sister, Lou Armbruster; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Billy will be remembered for his kindness, courage, and loving heart. As well as his hardworking attitude and friendliness to all those he met.
