Betty Elizabeth Routt

Betty Elizabeth (Schiller) Routt, 80, of Belton passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at a Belton nursing home.

Graveside services for Betty will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple with Chaplain Bruce Mercer officiating.

Betty was born in Temple to Walter and Albina (Gerick) Schiller. She graduated from Temple High School and attended Temple Junior College. She married Wendell "Soapy" Routt and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Schiller worked for Lonestar Gas for more than 25 years before retiring in 1990. She attended Christ The King Catholic Church in Belton and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

She was preceded in death by a great nephew, Kyle Thomas. She is survived by her sisters Joyce Thomas, and Carolyn Mercer; nephew Dennis Thomas and his wife Clara of Austin, and great nephew Justin Thomas.

A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:30-7:30 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
