Betty Louise Petrucci

Betty Louise Petrucci (98) of Temple Texas passed away in her home on Friday, May 26, 2023.

Betty was born on the family farm in Clare, Michigan on February 19th, 1925, to John Murphy and Marie Thering.  She was one of thirteen children.  At age 17, Betty moved to Detroit, Michigan and contributed to the World War II effort, working as a riveter making bombers.  This is where she met her future Husband. She married Steve Petrucci on May 27th, 1953, in Highland Park, Michigan. They would live in the Detroit area for the next 48 years raising their family.  Betty was a fulltime wife and mother.

Betty was widowed on January 4th, 2001, and lived independently until the age of 91.  For the last seven years Betty has lived with her daughter in Temple, Texas.  With the wonderful support of Hospice and after she received the sacrament of the sick, Grandma Betty, as she was called., passed peacefully at home with her family beside her.

Betty is survived by her sons; Steven J. Petrucci Jr. of Harrisville, Michigan, and Dino Petrucci of Austin, Texas, daughter Teresa Petrucci Pare of Temple, Texas, brothers; Thomas Anthony Murphy of Clare, Michigan, Charles Murphy of Pahrump, Nevada, her sister Rose Mary Wentworth of Clare, Michigan, Six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
