Funeral services for Betty Anne Davis, 88, of Temple, will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Gary Baxley officiating.   Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation 4:00-6:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Davis died February 23, 2024, at her home.

Betty was born March 21, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Leo Martin Baker and Lucile (Ellsworth) Baker.  She moved to Irving at the age of 15, where she graduated from Irving High School in 1952.  Betty attended North Texas State Teachers College, majoring in home economics. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.   She married James Francis Kelleher August 12, 1954, in Irving.  Mr. Kelleher died Oct 4, 1967.

She later married Carroll Lee Davis July 20, 1972, and moved to Temple.  She worked at Kayla's Hallmark Store for 20 years.  Betty volunteered at Scott and White as a Yellow Bird working in the hospital gift shop.

Betty has been a member of First Baptist Church in Belton since 1989.  She served along with her husband, Carroll, in the Senior Adult Sunday School class he led.  She sang in the church choir and was involved with Helping Hands Ministry and Project Apple Tree.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband James Francis Kelleher, one son, Kraig Kelleher; one grandson, James C. Kelleher; her parents; three siblings Helen Holloway, Overton Baker and Leo Baker Jr. and two daughters-in-law, Kay Griffin Kelleher and Sandra Frederick Kelleher.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years Carroll Lee Davis; two daughters Karen Brooks and husband Dan, Amy Edwards and husband Scott, one stepson, Brian Davis and wife Norma, seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Betty will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her kind, compassionate heart.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Belton Building Fund, Project Apple Tree or Helping Hands Ministries.
