Bernice Maners

March 14, 1930 — August 15, 2022

Bernice Lee Maners, 92, entered her Lord’s presence on August 15, 2022 in Lancaster, Texas at A Daughter’s Care Assisted Living.
Bernice was born during the Great Depression on March 14, 1930 in Falls County, Texas to her parents, Len Webster Moore and Ivy (Griffin) Moore. Bernice spent her childhood years in Bell County, Texas. As a young adult, Bernice moved to the big city of Houston to work as a teller. It was at South Main Baptist, Houston where Bernice met her soon to be husband, David Maners. They married on Bernice’s birthday, March 14, 1959. In 1960, they moved to Pasadena, Texas to be close to David’s work. It was in Pasadena where the two of them raised two boys, Barry and Jeff.  She served as the attendance clerk for Fisher Elementary from 1975-1988. Bernice and Dave retired in 1989 and returned to Bell County, Texas. In 2016, they moved to Dallas, Texas to be closer to their sons.
Those that know Bernice, know her to be a frank, thrifty, organized and quite the charitable person. Bernice was extremely talented and loved cooking for her family and friends, sewing clothes, canning food grown by her husband, cross-stitching, and doing a variety of other crafts and handiwork. She loved traveling and documenting her life and experiences, proven by her diaries and countless number of photo albums. She faithfully attended South Main Baptist, Pasadena and First Baptist, Belton. Her faith in Jesus Christ greatly influenced her sons and grandchildren.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, David, whom she referred to as “Daddy”; her father, Len; and her mother, Ivy. She is survived by her sister, Edith Lynn Beberstein; her brother, Doyle Ray Moore; her two sons, Barry and Jeff, and their spouses, Dana and Terrie; and her 6 grandchildren, Ethan, Jillian, Adam, Gavan, Reese and Stefi.
