Basil Truman Cook

Graveside services for Basil Truman Cook, 80, of Belton, will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with H. K. Ballard officiating.

Mr. Cook died Thursday, February 29, 2024 in a Waco Nursing Home.

Mr. Cook was born March 1, 1943, in Nuriva, West Virginia,  the son of Basil Truman Cook and Peggy Rose Cook.   He retired from the United States Army after 25 years of service.   He married Drema Adams, June 10, 1989 in Kentucky.  They lived in several places but moved from North Carolina to central Texas in 2020.

He is preceded in death by two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Drema Cook; two stepsons Charles Sturgeon and Chelsea Glen Carter Sturgeon; two stepdaughters Tina Emrick and Sandra Spoon; two brothers Jack Cook and Brett Cook; one sister Terrill Ann Marshall; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of arrangements.
