Addie Merlene Herbert, 95, of Belton, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024 at a Belton assisted living facility. Her service will be on Saturday, June 1, at 2pm, at Dossman Funeral Home. Visitation will take place one hour before.

Merlene, as she was known as, was born on December 29. 1928, in Burnet County Texas, in the Oatmeal community, to parents Thomas and Corena Watson.

She graduated from Star High School in 1947 and was married to Maloy Herbert in 1948 for some 68 years. She was a devoted mother and homemaker for 75+ years. She was a member of Miller Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Dennis Herbert and wife Annette, of Salado; three daughters, Peggy Herbert of Moody, Linda Herrington and husband Rick of Hamilton, and Cory O’Carroll and husband Kevin of Cameron. She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
