Mildred Allen

May 8, 1911 — January 13, 2010

Mrs. Allen was born May 8, 1911 in Sparta, the daughter of Richard Elmer Hallmark and Hattie Eliza (Oldham) Hallmark. She was a 1929 graduate of Killeen High School. She moved to Belton in 1929 with her family and went to work for the AAA office. She married Jack Allen in 1932. The couple lived in Houston and Austin before moving to Belton in the early 1940's. She worked at the Bell County Tax Office for Automobile registration for 36 years. She was a member of the Belton Iris Club for many years. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Belton Church of Christ since 1929. She was a Sunday School teacher. She taught a two and three year olds class for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include one sister Marjorie Duke of Wichita Falls; one niece and one nephew; one great niece and great nephew and four great-great nieces. Memorials may be made to the Belton Church of Christ or the charity of your choice.
