Billy James Ward Funeral services for Billy James Ward, 72, of Belton, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday February 1, 2010 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Randolph officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. Mr. Ward was born February 17, 1937 in Youngsport, the son of Frankie James Ward and Cynthia Estelle (Ivey) Ward. He was a life time resident of Belton County. He married Virginia Jones May 28, 1985 in Belton. He was retired, having worked for Tommy Boles in his early years and dedicating the last 42 years working for Ace, Inc. and the Rising "T" Ranch where he served as the right hand man for the Taylor Family, ranch and businesses. He loved the outdoors and spending time on the ranch with his white faced Herefords. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bobby Ward and Lynn Ward. Survivors include his wife Virginia Ward of Belton, two sons Jimmy Ward of Belton and Billy Ward of West. Two stepsons Michael Holland of Washington State and Robert Standley of Conroe, two stepdaughters Deborah Gladden of Coldsprings and Cleo Crismond of Napels, Florida; one brother Wayne Ward of Belton, five sisters Ruby Wright, Willie Bounds and Betty Taylor all of Belton, Sue LaRocque of Temple and Catherine Johnson of Waco and too many nieces and nephews to count. Memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice, The American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society non-profit organizations.
