W. E. Red Randolph

Belton--- Funeral services for W. E. Red Randolph, 77, of Belton, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Dossman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Randolph and Rev. John Roark officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday from 5-7 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Randolph was born June 12, 1932 in Cherokee, the son of C.E. and Lillie (Eaton) Randolph. He graduated from Cherokee, and then attended Tarleton College. He married Pansy Preece, February 3, 1951 in Belton. He worked various jobs his first year of marriage, surveying and construction work. Then in 1952 he went to work for Continental Belton Company. In 1982, he became President of the company. He held that title until 1988 when he became Vice President. He was a founding member of the Bell County Sheriffs Posse, founded in 1967. Mr. Randolph served as president for two years and drill captain for thirteen years. He was a founding member of the Bell County Horse Club, serving as leader from 1962 to 1970. He served on the Bell County Expo Center board of directors since the beginning and has served as President for two terms. He served on the Belton 4th of July Committee several years and was Chairman for two years. He has served on the Bell County Executive Commission on the Bell County Youth Fair since its beginning. Mr. Randolph was elected Belton Citizen of the Year in 1996. He was a founding member of the Central Texas Cutting Horse Association. He has been a member of the ACHA since its beginning. He was awarded the 2004 American Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame award. He has been a member of the National Cutting Horse Association since 1950. He was awarded the Old Timers Rodeo Association Trainer Award in 2003. He is a member of the Belton Masonic Lodge #166. He is a member and Deacon of Keys Valley Baptist Church. Mr. Randolph was preceded in death by his parents, sister Winagene Harr and great grandson Kameron Turner. Survivors include his wife Pansy Randolph of Belton, four sons and daughters-in-law; Ellis and D'Ann Randolph, Mike and Rosemary Randolph, Randy and Tammy Randolph, and Lowell and Missy Randolph all of Belton. A sister Jolene Doyle of Bryan. Eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; two step grandson and six step great grandchildren.
