Virginia Lee Ragsdale

Graveside services for Virginia L. Ragsdale, age 89, of Woodway and formerly of Belton will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at North Belton Cemetery with Rev. Steve Abbe officiating. Mrs. Ragsdale died Tuesday at a Waco hospital. She was born April 21, 1920 in Holland to Owen and Lillian (Duck) Goodnight. She attended Holland schools and graduated from Holland High School. After graduation she attended the Kings Daughters Hospital School of Nursing. She then went to work for the Veterans Hospital in Temple where she worked for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belton where she lived for over 50 years. She married Roy Lee Ragsdale in 1941, he preceded her in death in 1980. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Anita Gwen Ragsdale, daughter, Linda Lee Hutto, son Dr. Roy Michael Ragsdale and great grandson Jeffrey McBay. She is survived by daughter, Rhonda Collier and husband Cliff of Woodway, sister, Betty Nutt of Valley Mills, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Dossman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association.
