Memorial services for Carl V. Pearson, age 89, of Belton will be held Wednesday at 11:30 AM at First Baptist Church in Belton with Rev. Andy Davis officiating. Private burial at Bellwood Memorial Park will take place prior to services. Mr. Pearson died at his home in Belton on Sunday. He was born January 20, 1920 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Victor E. and Lucille (Lawrence) Pearson. He attended schools in Minneapolis and at an early age entered the U. S. Army, serving from 1942 to 1948 in the Pacific Theater. While at Ft. Hood he met and married Frances Harris on June 20, 1947. Following the service he worked for civil service at Ft. Hood as a Procurement Officer until 1974. He and his wife were some of the first to move to Morgan's Point Resort, living there for 44 years. While living there he was secretary/city manager for two years. He also worked as a real estate broker for 4 years. Recently he worked for the mapping department of Bell County. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Belton and was active in it's benevolent work including Helping Hands Ministery. Survivors include a son, Craig Pearson of Belton, a daughter, Laura Pitchford of Carthage, 4 grandchildren, Jason Pearson, Jennifer Howard, Josh Pearson and Jessica Allen, 7 great grandchildren, Carter Howard, Garrett Howard, Gavin Howard, Kate Pearson, Elle Pearson, Elias Allen and Ava Allen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Helping Hands Ministry or First Baptist Church of Belton Benevolence Fund. Dossman Funeral Home of Belton is in charge of arrangements.
