Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Smith, age 59, of Pendleton will be Thursday at 10:00 AM at Dossman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charlie Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Pendleton Cemetery. Mr. Smith died Monday at his home in Pendleton. He was born July 10, 1950 in Lauderdale County, Alabama to Al Jay and Lona Mae (Rhodes) Smith. He served in the U. S. Army for 11 years serving in Vietnam and Korea. After a tour at Ft. Hood he decided to make his home in Bell County. He married Janice Faye Graham on May 29, 1990 in Belton, Texas. For many years he was self-employed as an owner/operator in the trucking business. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Janice Faye Smith of Pendleton, 2 sons, Jerry Wayne Smith II of Temple and Jimmy Bundrant of Hempstead, 3 daughters, Jannah Lee of Sheffield, Alabama, Teresa Walker of Moody and Amanda Alley of Rogers, mother, Lona Mae Smith of Florence, Alabama, brother, Dan Smith of Florence, Alabama, 2 sisters, Elizabeth Jaynes of Florence, Alabama and Teresa Hand of Iron City, Tennessee, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
