Ty R. Cobb, Sr.

Ty Cobb, Sr. 71 of Belton, died Monday May 31, 2010 in a Belton Nursing Home. The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday evening, Jun 3, 2010 from 5-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Cobb was born March 21, 1939 in Houston, the son of Paul Cobb, Sr. and Ima Murphy. He lived in the Houston area until moving to central Texas in 1983. He was an electrician and a self educated engineer. He was a member of The Temple Aero Modelers Club. Mr. Cobb was a musician. He taught himself to play the guitar to the master musician level. Surviors include four sons Ty Cobb, Jr. of Belton, Keith Cobb of Eureka, California, John Cobb of Chilton and James Cobb of Austin; one daughter Janice Kirksey of Houston. Eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
