Louis Lawson Estill

Graveside services for Louis Lawson Estill, age 85 of Belton will be held Monday at 10:30 AM at North Belton Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Perkins and Rev. Dennis Terry officiating. Mr. Estill died Friday in Temple. He was born March 9, 1925 in Cameron, Texas to Lawson Charles and Fannie (Breazeale) Estill. He moved to Belton at an early age and graduated from Belton High School. He served in the 43rd Fighter Squadron, 6th Air Force U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II for 3 years. He began a career with the Texas Highway Department in 1949 as a Rodman and later became an Inspector retiring as a Engineer Tech V with a total of 41 years of service. He married Virginia Jones on July 9, 1949 in Belton. He was a member of the Belton Masonic Lodge and was a former Lodge Master. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Estill of Belton, one son, Louis Charles Estill of Murphy, one daughter, Janet Lynn Galindo of Alice, one brother, Thomas D. Estill of Arlington, three grandchildren Charles Galindo Jr., John Galindo and Katy Jo Estill. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday at Dossman Funeral Home. Dossman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
