Douglas Eugene Collier

Graveside services for Douglas E. Collier, age 79, of Belton will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at North Belton Cemetery with Rev. Steve Abbe officiating. There will be visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 AM Friday at Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Collier died Tuesday in a Waco nursing home. He was born October 29, 1930 in Loraine, Texas to Leslie and Lena (Fine) Collier. He grew up in Loraine and farmed, later moved to Belton in 1958. He married Alena Martin March 17, 1951 in Loraine, Texas. She preceded him in death in 2007. He was a carpenter for most of his life but loved farming. He was a member of Miller Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include 3 sons, Cliff Collier of Waco, Mike Collier of Brenham and Mark Collier of Belton; daughter, Karen Collier May of Brenham; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Matt Collier, Keith Collier, David Collier, Clayton Collier, Jason Collier, Josh Bean, Brian Collier and Ken Burch.
