Betty Stroud

Funeral services for Betty Jean Stroud, age 79, of Salado will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM with Dr. Rodney Kruse officiating. Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery. Mrs. Stroud died Saturday at her home. She was born August 18, 1930 in Bell County to Clyde J. and Louise (Deorsam) Spence. She was a 1947 graduate of Belton High School. She married Fred Wiley Stroud on November 5, 1948 in Temple. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone and Austin Independent School District as a switchboard operator for many years. She loved quilting and was a member of the Bell County Sportsman's Club. Survivors include her husband, Fred Stroud of Salado; son, Ron Stroud of Leander; daughter, Sandra Nodler of Bastrop; brother, Clayton Spence of Ft. Worth; 2 grandchildren, Quentin Nodler and Morgan Nutt. Pallbearers are; Quentin Nodler, Chris Nutt, Don Cunningham, Jim Nodler, Jeff Spence and Dan Hughes.
