A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Daniel Joseph Staebler, age 86, of Temple, Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple with Father Ranjan Cletus officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery near Georgetown. A rosary will be recited at Dossman Funeral Home Monday at 7:00 PM. Mr. Staebler died Thursday at his home. He was born January 29, 1924 in Haverhill, Iowa to John and Mary (Holdgrafer) Staebler. He served in the United States Air Force for 26 years. Following that he worked for the University of Illinois. He moved to Temple 8 years ago and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He married Shirley A. Kelly April 24, 1954 in Loves Park, Illinois. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Staebler of Temple; one son, Daniel D. Staebler of Temple; one daughter, Debra A. Kotzian of Temple; one brother, David H. Staebler of Rantoul, Illinois and 4 grandchildren; Kelly Sturdivant, Kassy Kotzian, Kaleb Kotzian, and Kolin Kotzian. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Capital Campaign for a new Gymnasium.
