Mary Elizabeth Zieger

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Zieger, age 84, of Salado died Saturday at her home. Private burial will be Tuesday at the Salado Cemetery in Salado. She was born January 6, 1926 in Austin, Texas to William Clyde and Bessie (Hildabrandt) Champion. She grew up in Austin and attended school there. On December 23, 1942 she married Otto Oscar Zieger in Austin, Texas. She was a veteran of World War serving in the U. S. Army WAC's. She moved to Salado in 1986 from Austin. She was a Presbyterian. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother. Survivors include a son, Billy Zieger of Salado; a daughter, Mary Morgan of Salado; two brothers, Gilbert Champion of Gonzales and Topy Champion of Lake Travis; a sister Linnie Turner of Cedar Park; four grand daughters; 11 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
