John Edgar Wood

Funeral Services for John Edgar Wood, 77, of Salado, will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Bentley and Rev. Mike Harkrider officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation and viewing Monday evening from 6-8 PM at Mr. Wood's home , 7364 FM 2484 Salado. Mr. Wood was born May 1, 1933 in Salado, the son of Joseph Eddy Wood and Katrina Carston Wood. He married Mary Lynn Conder July 8, 1950 in Salado, she preceded him in death March 2, 2004. He later married Martha (Ming) Hommel. Mr. Wood was a member of the Salado United Methodist Church. He was a supervisor for the BNSF Railroad and retired after 31 years of service. Survivors include his wife Martha Wood of Salado, one son Johnny Wood and wife Pam of San Marcos and two daughters Shirley Weatherford and husband Skip of Forney and Cindy Wiley and husband David of Salado. Step son Wayne Allred of Georgia and step daughter Tracy Stovall of Waco. One sister Alma Camp of Belton, six grandchildren, four step grandchildren; four great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Scott and White Hospice.
