Services for A. M. "Johnny" Adams, age 89, of Salado will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Borho officiating. Burial will follow at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Belton. Mr. Adams died Friday in a Temple hospital. He was born July 19, 1921 in The Grove, Texas to Thomas Alvin and Lillie Myrtle (Vaden) Adams. He has lived in Bell County for all his life. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He married Zelma Aline Barnes on December 15, 1939 in Junction, Texas. He owned and operated Adams Trucking Company for over 50 years. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Salado. Survivors include his wife, Zelma Adams of Salado; one son, Jerry Adams and wife Debbie of Salado; one daughter Peggi Wilson and husband John of Salado, he also raised James Smith who lives in Salado with his wife Dorothy; 3 grandchildren, Trampas Wilson and wife Courtney of Mansfield, Clayton Adams of Jarrell and Sommer Wilson of Cedar Park; 4 great grandchildren, Zachary Adams of Salado, Tanner Wilson, Chase Wilson and Dax Wilson all of Mansfield. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 13295 FM 2843, Salado, Texas 76571 or Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame, PO Box 104 Walnut Springs, Texas 76990 or the charity of choice. Pallbearers will be Butch Cavin, Ed Ater, J. W. Faglie, Benny Smith, Lyn Vaden and Verlon Tweedle. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Sanford, Donnie Warrick, Tom Gidley, Delbert Buchannan, Delmar Bennight, Willie Vickers, David Elms, Monte Elms, Bobby Smith and Orb Cabiness. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
