Russell Dwayne Weaver

Russell Dwayne Weaver, born June 25, 1955, in Temple, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 21, 2010. He passed away peacefully at his Temple home after a long battle with cancer. Russell grew up in Temple, Texas where he graduated from Temple High School in 1973. He served 4 years in the United States Marine Corp where he became involved with the Military Police and served in the Coast Guard Reserves from 1989 to 1992. Russell was a peace officer for the Temple Police Department, Bell County Sheriffs Department, and Office of Inspector General with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice where he retired as a State Peace Officer. He made a plethora of friends while moving around Texas with his career and will be dearly missed by all. Russell was an active member of Temple Bible Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin B. Weaver. Survivors include, son Roland C. Weaver of Bryan, daughter Shelbi Lynn Weaver of Gatesville, stepdaughter Kelli Gaines of Bryan, step-son Douglas Wade Manning of San Antonio, mother Fredia Weaver of Temple, sister Dawn D. Robinson and husband Matt of Belton, sister Renee D. Langston of Gatesville, nieces Megan Watson of Gatesville, Savannah Robinson of Temple, Rebekah Robinson of Belton, nephew Charles Langston of Rusk, and great nephew Riley Watson of Gatesville. The family would like to thank the staff members of Vista Care Hospice and all of "God's Angels" at Scott and White. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Scott and White Cancer Research Center or Temple Bible Church. The body was cremated and a memorial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 28, at Temple Bible Church, 3205 Oak View Drive, Temple, TX. He will be celebrated with military honors at Central Texas Military Cemetery in Killeen at 1:00 p.m., 11463 State Hwy. 195, Killeen, TX.
