Services for Joe Allen Carnes, age 65, of Temple will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Dossman Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Pendleton Cemetery. Mr. Carnes died Tuesday in a Temple hospital. He was born January 10, 1945 in New Braunfels to Joe Charlie and Velma Pearl (Allen) Carnes. He was raised in New Braunfels. He married Mildred Paxton on August 10, 1968 in Bellmeade. He was in the U.S. Navy and afterward graduated from TSTC. He lived in the Dallas area for a few years before moving to Temple where he became a Temple Firefighter for many years and owned and operated a heating and air conditioning business. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife Mildred Carnes of Temple, 2 sons, Charles Carnes and Joe Wesley Carnes both of Temple; daughter, Kimberly Carnes of Temple; mother, Velma Carnes of Holland; 2 brothers, Roy Wayne Carnes of Troy and Glen Edward Carnes of Attenborough, MA; 2 sisters, Barbara Sue Wooley of Holland and Mary Margaret Kyes of Temple, 2 grandsons; Joe Wesley Carnes and Robert Allen Carnes; 2 great grandchildren, Christopher Carnes and Anaya May Carnes. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home.
