Services for Margaret Mary (Peggy) Blake, age 89, of Temple will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home with Father Don Loftin officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. Mrs. Blake died Friday at her home in Temple. She was born November 25, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John Joseph and Mary Ellen (Gillespie) Conlogue. She enlisted in the WAAC, then became a WAC in 1943, serving with the 8th Air Force in England. On April 21, 1944 she married Capt. James Henry Allen Blake in Watford, England. She spent many years working as a secretary and accountant, in 1987 following retirement she and her husband settled in Temple. She was a life member of the DAV, The 8th Air Force Historical Society and VFW. She was also a member of Bell County Extension Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003. Survivors include 5 sons, James M. Blake of Miami, Florida, John P. Blake and wife Barbara of Franklin, Massachusetts, Daniel Blake of Dubuque, Iowa, David A. Blake and wife Carolyn of Charleston, South Carolina and Christopher G. Blake and wife Debra of Crestline, California, 1 daughter, Maureen E. Blake of Temple, 7 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials the family request memorials to the American Cancer Society or Scott and White Hospice. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
