Francis Joseph Murray Jr.

Funeral services for Francis Joseph Murray, Jr., age 83, of Belton will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday at Dossman Funeral Chapel with Minister Joe Baisden officiating. Mr. Murray died Friday December 24, 2010 at his home. He was born January 6, 1927 in Medford, Oregon to Francis Joseph Murray Sr. and Ruth Janette Thompson Murray. He grew up in Blaine, Washington where he graduated high school. After graduation he entered the U. S. Army Air Corp and later served as an officer in the United States Air Force for 23 years. He married Gloria June Phillips on October 3, 1950 in Texarkana. He also worked as a Regional Manager for Atlas Van Lines for 20 years. In his sixties he began a third career in real estate in San Antonio where he lived until moving to Belton a few years ago. He was a member of the Retired Air Force Officers Association and was a Catholic. He is survived by one son, Lester Murray of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Kathy Parks of Belton; one brother, William Francis Murray of Anchorage, Alaska; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Parks, Tracy Parks and Keenan Murray and one great grandchild Madison Parks.
