Belton--- Funeral Services for Diane Elkins Scott, 58, of Temple, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday January 5, 2011 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Billy Slaymaker officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 PM at the Stag Creek Cemetery in Comanche County. Mrs. Scott died Saturday January 1, 2011 after a family celebration welcoming the new year. Mrs. Scott was born February 16, 1952 in Brownwood, the daughter of Cecil and Jewel (Ferguson) Elkins. She was a 1970 graduate of Brownwood High School. She married Terry Scott March 17, 1991 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a Baptist. Survivors include her husband Terry Scott of Temple, parents Cecil and Jewel Elkins of Early, son Bradley Beck of Austin and two daughters Jennifer Ramirez and husband, Pete Ramirez, Jr. of Belton and Allison Beck of Temple; two step daughters Shelley Broyles of Fairview and Holly Scott of Allen; one brother Dana Elkins and wife Heidi of Highland Ranch, Colorado and one sister Ronda Lovelady and husband Randal of Brownwood and three grandchildren, Ryan Ramirez, Samuel Ramirez, and Scottie Broyles. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
