James Ricky Drummond

Funeral services for James Ricky Drummond, age 60, of Golinda will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home with Minister Joe Baisden officiating. Mr. Drummond died Tuesday in a Temple hospital. He was born April 16, 1950 in Texas City, Texas. He grew up in Holland, Texas and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was a song writer and enjoyed a relationship with Willie Nelson. He was also a plumbing inspector, working for Biggs Plumbing in Austin and Malek Heating and Air Conditioning in Corpus Christi. He married Betty Lynn Maddox on June 30, 1989 in Ripley Tennessee. Survivors include his wife, Betty Drummond of Golinda, 5 sons, Darin Drummond of Temple, Tim Wooley of Garland, Mitchell Drummond of Kingsville, Joshua Williams of Kingsville and James Dylan Drummond of Golinda; 4 daughters, Brandy Shafer of Temple, Amanda Botkin of Caldwell, Samantha Drummond of Golinda and Terri Drummond of Bishop and also 20 grandchildren.
