Wayne Townsend

Belton--- Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Townsend, 91, of Salado, will be held, 11:00 AM Monday, April 25, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Salado with Rev. Billy Johnson, Rev. Brian Dunks and Rev. Travis Burleson officiating. Burial will follow at the Salado Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. Mr. Townsend died Friday April 22, 2011 in a Temple Assisted Living Home. Mr. Townsend was born April 14, 1920 in Salado, the son of Will and Elva (Grigsby) Townsend. Mr. Townsend was a World War II veteran and served in the U. S. Army. He married Connie Blain, October 10, 1948 in Salado. He was a Farmer and Rancher and proudly raised registered Hereford Cattle. He was a member of First Baptist Church Salado. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2006. Survivors include his daughter Lori Townsend Maughan; brother Kenneth Townsend and granddaughter Jessica Maughan all of Salado.
