Craig Warren Clanton

Belton --- Funeral services for Dr. Craig Warren Clanton, 53, of Temple, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday May 7, 2011, at the Dossman Funeral Home with Minister Warren King officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. The Family will receive friends for visitation Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Clanton died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Scott and White Hospital. Dr. Clanton was born February 28, 1958 in Houston, the son of Gerald W. Clanton and Florine (Edwards) Clanton. He married Carol Rae Dobranich June 28, 1980 in Houston Texas. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University in 1980 and a 1982 graduate of Texas A&M Medical School. He served his family medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic. He was a Family Physician with Scott and White for 25 years, spending the last 15 years in the Belton Clinic, 11 years with the Medical School and many years as director and associate director of the Scott and White Health Plan. He was a member of the Leon Valley Church of Christ, where he served as deacon. Survivors include his wife Carol Rae Clanton of Temple; parents Gerald and Florine Clanton of Belton; three daughters, Courtney Rae Henson and husband Jared of College Station, Corinne Marie Walls and husband Adam of Temple, and Casey Jean Clanton of Houston; one son, Cody Ryan Clanton of College Station; two brothers, Brent Clanton of Houston and Scott Clanton of Houston; one sister, Kay Lynn Hewlett of Houston. Two grandchildren, Keller and Beckett Henson.
