Memorial services for Ernest E. South, age 90, of Temple will be Monday at 10:00 AM at Dossman Funeral Home with Minister Joe Baisden officiating. Mr. South died Wednesday in a Temple hospital. He was born March 7, 1931 in Carmi, Illinois to James E and Edna (Harlow) South. He graduated from high school in Washington Courthouse, Ohio in 1939. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II (1940-1945) where he met his wife Agnes Bleise, they were married in 1945, she preceded him in death in 1982. He lived and worked in Michigan from 1945 until retiring from Interstate Motor Freight in 1979. He then met and married Frances Price Campbell of Arlington, Texas in 1986, they relocated to Temple in 1987 and she preceded him in death in 2010. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael E. South. Survivors include 3 sons; Richard W. South of Corvallia, Oregon, Jeffrey J. South and Steven C. South both of St. Petersburg, Florida; 2 daughters, Suzanne Taylor and husband Gordon of Bridgeport, Michigan and Cynthia Maxson and husband James of Midland, Michigan; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. The family wishes to thank all those who help care for Ernie, especially the nurses in the Medical ICU at Scott and White Hospital. A special thank you to Bruce for all he has done, you have gone above and beyond.
