Funeral services for James Housewright, 82, of Belton, will be held at 10 AM Thursday, Graveside at North Belton Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Meadows officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Housewright died Monday, May 16, 2011 in a Temple hospital. Mr. Housewright was born April 19, 1929 in Holland the son of Dock Rogers Housewright and Janie Rebecca (Bridges) Housewright. He married Lee Dulaney, August 19, 1955 in Belton. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U. S. Navy. Mr. Housewright was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Hood. He was an active member of Miller Heights since October 1962, and served as a deacon for many years. James enjoyed life to its fullest and loved his family, friends and church. Some of his favorite past times were fishing with his brothers, gardening and traveling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lee Housewright, April 30, 2010, and siblings Irene Finch, D. R. Housewright, Wilburn Housewright and Doris Mae Housewright. Survivors include his son, Steven Housewright and wife Karen, of Austin, granddaughter Kimberly Sleeth and husband Michael, grandson Kendall Housewright, great-grandchildren Hannah, Aidan, Brighton and Oliver.
