Services for Charles W. "Chuck" Clements, age 92, of Belton will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Belton with Joe Baisden and Bob Livingston officiating. Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery. Mr. Clements died Thusday in a Temple hospital. He was born March 3, 1919 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to Charles Zimmerman and Hilda (Greenhalgh) Clements. He grew up in Pennsylvania. He served as a Master Sergaent in the U.S. Army Air Corp as well as the infantry during World War II. While stationed at Foster Field he met and married Barbara W. Adams on January 22, 1944 in Victoria, Texas. He received a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from Baylor University. He taught at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where he was also the business manager. He worked in sales for Griggs Equipment and later Royal Seating. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Waco for 65 years as well as the Lions Club International in Waco and Belton. He was Lion of the Year and was secretary/treasurer of the Belton Club for many years. He was an active member of the Yellow Birds volunteer group at Scott and White Hospital since 1995. He was member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church in Belton and also treasurer for a number of years. Survivors include 2 sons; Charles Clements and wife Kandy of Kingsville and Wm. Kelly Clements and wife Teresa of New Braunfels, 2 daughters; Laura Petty and husband David of Belton and Luanne Miller and husband Mike of Harker Heights, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Dossman Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Belton.
