Kenneth Wayne Mize

Belton--- Funeral services for Kenneth Wayne Mize, 75, of Moffat, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday August 31, 2011 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary DeSalvo officiating. Burial will follow at the Moffat Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home Mr. Mize passed away Saturday August 27, 2011 at the Olin E. Teague Veterans Hospice Unit. Mr. Mize was born October 17, 1935 in McGregor, the son of Melvin and Vivian (Cooper) Mize. He married Janice Smith, May 1954 and she preceded him in death. He served in the Korean War and the National Guard Reserves. In April 1973 married Rita Pierce. He was a member of the American Legion Post #133. Mr. Mize was one of the first volunteer firemen of the Moffat Volunteer Fire Department and served there for 16 years. He worked in various Utility Construction capacities before becoming the Owner and Manager of Ken's Road Service Co. for 25 years, retiring in 2005. Mr. Mize was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother and his first wife. He is survived by his wife Rita of Moffat, four sons Jimmy Mize and wife Joy of Marble Falls, Randy Mize of Temple, Danny Mize and wife Christine of Pflugerville, Buddy Veazey of Temple; three daughters LaDonna Peterson and husband Donnie of Jarrell, Patricia Meacham and husband Randy of Temple and Rita Veazey of Allen. One sister Melva Morrow and husband Woodrow of Waco. 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ryan Mize, Duston Peterson, Travis Meacham, Steven Bauerschlag II, Donald Carlock, Allen Turner and Brandon Veazey. Honorary Pallbearers are "The Social Club Members" Edgar Bounds, Charlie Hudnall, Jim Boniface, Dan Smith, Ernie Jonas, Robert Boop, and the late Charles Spivey and Gene Ballard.
