Lloyd Marvin Solomon

Lloyd Marvin Solomon, 80, of Belton, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 at his home in Belton. Lloyd was born in Sioux City, Iowa January 10, 1931 to Theodore and Mary Solomon. He served honorably and retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant. In 1967 he married his wife, Bernita in South Dakota. They have lived in the central Texas area since 1967. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #4008 and the American Legion Post #55. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister, and one grandson, John Marvin Erickson. Survivors include his loving wife Bernita Solomon of Belton; five sons, Pat Ostrander and wife Marsha of Florida, Michael Erickson Sr. and wife Jody of Belton, Bradley Erickson of Belton, Dennis Solomon of Omaha, Nebraska, Chris Solomon of Austin; three daughters, Linda Nielsen and husband Gary of Minnesota, Cindy Solomon, Teresa Solomon and husband Charles Zachary, both of Rockdale; and numerous grandchildren, many great grand children, and few great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, October 6, 2011, under the direction of Dossman Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Baisden officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen Memorial Park in Killeen with military honors. Pallbearers will be Charles Zachary, Jacob Erickson, Brian Solomon, Bernie Solomon, Sean Nielsen, and Michael Erickson III. Honorary pallbearers will be, Zachary, Dennis, and Matthew Erickson.
