Belton - Mrs. Margaret Mae Martin, age 84 of Belton, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 in Temple. She was born July 19, 1927 in Richmond, Virginia to Ernest and Erna Tice. On Novermber 26, 1942 in Chesterfield, South Carolina, she married her loving husband, Thomas Earl Martin. They moved to the Belton area in 1998 from Houston. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church where she was a member of Daughters Of The King and the Alter Guild. Margaret was always giving back to her community every chance she got. She was a caregiver to many friends and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; six children; and one grandchild. Survivors include, two daughters, Debbie Rogers and husband Gil of Belton, Linda Shumway of Belton; and one brother, Jake Trice and wife Mable of Richmond, Virginia. Services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Chaplain Bruce Mercer officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Thursday Club at the First Baptist Church, 506 N. Main Belton, Texas, 76513 (please memo checks to Thursday Club) and to Tuesday Solace at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 5001 Hickory Rd. Temple, Texas, 76502 (please memo checks to Tuesday Solace).
