Wayne Rogers

Belton- Memorial services for Wayne Rogers, age 89 of Temple, will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, December 3, 2011 at The Meridian in Temple. Mr. Rogers died Thursday, November 24, 2011 in Temple. He was born March 10, 1922, in Prosper, Texas, the son of Walter and Minnie Rogers. He married his loving wife, Mary Rogers, in Harris County, Texas. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force in WWII from 1942 to 1945. He was Methodist and has lived in Temple since 2004 after moving from Highland Haven, Texas. Wayne was a Past President of the Longview Greggton Rotary Club and a Past President of the Longview Chamber of Commerce. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Garth and Russell Rogers; and one sister, Elaine Rogers Pecot. Survivors include, two nephews, H.W. Buddy Pecot of Longview, R.G. Pecot of Ennis, Texas; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Scott and White Children's Hospital, 2401 S. 31st Street, Temple, Texas 76508.
