David Thad Francis

David Francis, 72, of Belton, Texas, died Thursday, January 5, 2012 in Temple. Inurnment will be held 10:00 AM Monday, January 9, 2012 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. He was born September 4, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Wilma Ruth Francis. David married his wife, Christina, April 28, 1998 in Austin, Texas. He served honorably in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960. Mr. Francis was a member of the Unity of Temple, Texas church. David was also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and Past Master of the Belton Masonic Lodge #166, a member of the Belton Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #589, and Sectional Master of the American Contract Bridge League. He is preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Diane Declerq. Survivors include his wife, Christina Francis; three sons, David Thad Francis II, James Strauser, Matthew Francis; one daughter, Adriana Treest Holladay; and seven grandchildren, David Thad Francis III, Gail Francis, Nicklas Francis, Samantha Strauser, Noah Strauser, Ryan Holladay, and Shelby Holladay. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choosing.
