Belton--- Funeral services for James B. Smith, 77, of Salado, will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Dossman Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born February 10, 1935 in San Antonio. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, served as an Airman 1st Class during the Korean Conflict. He married Dorothy Varner in 1978 in Arkansas. The couple moved to Salado in 1982. He worked for many years as a truck driver for Wilson Art until retiring in 1993. He was a member of Lawler Baptist Church in Florence. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Smith of Salado; two sons James A. Smith of Laguna Hills, California and David M. Smith of Salado; one daughter Joann Ordner of Belton and one step daughter Sandra Calva of Alaska; two brothers David Simmonds of Weatherford and Paul Smith of Houston; five sisters Rose Marie Smith of Denver, Colorado, Mary Louise Shelton of Temple, Betty Anne Dulaney of Moody, Dorothy Nell Harvell of Temple and Helen Blair of Quitman. foster Mother Zelma Adams of Salado; foster brother Jerry Adams of Salado and foster sister Peggi Wilson of Salado and four grandchildren.
