Funeral services for Won Young Park, 82, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Warren King officiating. Burial will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday from 4-6 PM. Mr. Park was born December 29, 1929 in Honolulu, Hawaii the son of Tai Kyun Park and Mal Soon (Kim) Park. He retired as Sgt. Major from the U. S. Army in 1977. He served for 26 years. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During the Korean War he was a Prisoner of War for 13 months and 2 days. He received many decorations while serving in the Army including the Purple Heart and the POW medal. After retiring from the Army Mr. Park work for Tranum Buick and Garlyn Shelton Cadillac for many years. Mr. Park married Mina Grunleitner, March 26, 1956 in Landshut, Germany. He was a member of Leon Valley Church of Christ. Mr. Park is survived by his wife Mina Park of Belton; son Randal Park of Cedar Park; two daughters Lydia Park of Austin and Isolde Brazil of Pflugerville; one brother Francis Park of Hawaii; six grandchildren Stephanie Toal, Michael Park, Bryan Park, Jasmine Park, Jason Brazil, Megan Brazil and two great grandchildren, Kyleigh Toal and Austin Toal.
